ECK Civil Engineering Ltd were commissioned to design and construct a new driveway at Pleasington Old Hall, a Grade II listed Tudor-era property. The project required a heritage-sensitive approach that complemented the building’s architecture while incorporating modern drainage standards.
ECK managed the full design and build package, from concept to completion. Works included excavation, sub-base construction, and drainage installation, as well as the sourcing and laying of reclaimed stone cobbles for visual continuity. The team also installed gravel stabilisation systems and decorative gravel finishes to create a SuDS-compliant, long-lasting surface that harmonises with the historic surroundings.
The completed driveway blends traditional character with contemporary engineering, providing a durable and visually cohesive surface that enhances the property’s heritage appeal while improving functionality and drainage performance.
